Gladys Montane, D.Ed.

Dr Velazquez-Montane works as an Assistant Professor and Director of Radiologic Imaging Modalities and Radiologist Assistant Program. She has an EdD in Higher Education and Adult Education, Masters of Arts in Health Education and Organizational Change Management, Bachelors of Arts in Allied Health Services, Online Learning Consortium Instructional Designer Certificate, American Council of Education Certificate in Effective Teaching, Certified and Registered Radiologic Technologist. She has membership in Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society.

 

Dr Velazquez-Montane has comprehensive knowledge and experience in developing programs, curriculum, and accreditation, both in a brick and mortar setting and online. She created the first joint Bachelor of Science program in the State of New Jersey that focuses on advancing the education for entry-level licensed radiographers in the select modality areas of computerized tomography, magnetic resonance, and mammography. The advanced modalities address the workforce needs of multi-competent technologists. She developed the first nationally recognized Master of Science degree program for Radiologist Assistants and has served on the job analysis advisory committee and curriculum revision committee.

 

In addition to her educational efforts, Dr Velazquez-Montane has experience in legislative work, having developed legislative bills to recognize the radiologist assistant in the State of New Jersey. And in Washington, DC, she has met with congressional members to advocate for the bipartisan bill - Medicare Access to Radiology Care Act H.R. 1904 MARCA).
